The UNH Marine Research Pier is located across from the Coast Guard Station on New Castle, NH, to the East of Portsmouth, NH. It measures 325’ x 28’ (re-built in 2008), has cranes/forklift, power, internet and serves as a staging point for both the offshore and estuarine operations.
Bays under the pier are also used for materials testing for MHK (Corrosion, Bio-fouling). The research vessels R/V Gulf Challenger, R/V Coastal Surveyor, R/V Cocheco, R/V Galen J and R/V Ferdinand Hassler are berthed here.
